    Story Synopsis:
    The year: 1818. The location: Red River, Tennessee. The victim: youngest Bell daughter. The accused: Evil spirit. Based on recorded history, An American Haunting (based upon the novel by Brent Monahan) tells a tale of fear, mayhem, and unanswered prayers that result in murderous consequences. (Jack Kelley)

    DVD Picture:
    While the anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture can exhibit crisp details and well-rendered colors, shadow delineation is not impressive, limiting detail in the dark scenes. Occasionally the image can look smeared, and source element artifacts and minor edge enhancement can become a distraction. (Danny Richelieu)
