While recovering from a leg injury David (Hanks), a pilot, meets and falls in love with Sarah (Marsillach, in her first English-speaking film role), a lovely young Jewish girl. Sarah is at first skeptical but, she thinks, "Every Time We Say Goodbye my heart breaks" and keeps on seeing him. However, Sarah's mother is most upset about the relationship and will do whatever it takes to keep her daughter away from the handsome American. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture looks dated and is a bit dark. Colors are generally well balanced in the dim setting, with brownish fleshtones and undefined blacks. Images are generally sharp, although some smearing is evident. Objects can appear edgy at times. The source element is revealing of some film grain and flecks of dirt. (Suzanne Hodges)
