Story Synopsis:
Nick Naylor's (Eckhart) flexible morals and ability to spin the truth come in handy as the mouthpiece for America's tobacco industry. Promoting an industry that kills 1,200 people daily can be a tough pitch, but his charm and charisma make it all come easily for him...that is until his bright-eyed and impressionable son (Bright) takes an interest in his career. Thank You For Smoking, which is based on Christopher Buckley's best-selling novel, is Jason Reitman's directorial debut. (Jack Kelley)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture has a gritty stylization with dark shadows and is swathed in yellow overtones. The picture is generally nicely detailed, although some closeups can look a little too soft. Whites can look blown out and detail in the shadows can be limited. (Danny Richelieu)
