Story Synopsis:
Just how Dirty are former-gangbangers-turned-LAPD officers Salim Adel (Gooding Jr.) and Armando Sancho (Collins Jr.)? Well, in a little over 12-hour period, they (either individually or as partners) commit the following obvious offenses: sexual assault, breaking and entering, transportation (and use) of a controlled substance, battery, brandishing a firearm, conduct unbecoming of an officer, and murder...and just a whole lot of bad language. Told in a gritty, stylized way that both helps and hinders this day-in-the-life-of-a-cop urban drama. (Jack Kelley)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.82:1 DVD picture exhibits clear indication of its Super 16 source element. The picture has a gritty, harsh appearance with inherent film grain that provides an edgy texture to the storytelling. Images are nicely detailed, with well-balanced contrast and shadow delineation. The shaky handheld camerawork can make those with larger home theatre displays ill. Compression is nicely done, with little bothersome breakup.
