Special features on Disc One include commentary by Sidney Lumet and the theatrical trailer. Disc Two offers the documentary "The Making Of Network" available to watch in its 85-minute entirety or broken down into the chapters "Network: The World And Words Of Paddy Chayefsky" (12 minutes), "Network: The Cast, The Characters" (13 minutes), "Network: Mad As Hell! The Creation Of A Movie Moment" (eight minutes), "Network: The Experience" (25 minutes), "Network: The Style" (17 minutes), and "Network: By Walter Cronkite" (10 minutes). There is also a 14-minute interview between Dinah Shore and Paddy Chayefsky and "Private Screenings With Sidney Lumet," a 54-mintue interview/featurette.
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits a slightly cleaner image when compared to the previously released DVD, but this new DVD still has dated characteristics. The color scheme is generally well balanced, but blacks are milky and undefined. Sharpness and details are satisfying, but fine textures are limited. Film grain is inherent in the source element, but its presence is not that offensive. MInor pixelization is evident. (Suzanne Hodges)
