    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced, THX-digitally mastered 2.32:1 DVD exhibits a much-needed improvement over the previously released non-anamorphic DVD. Images are sharp and detailed, with more textures and delineation than apparent on the previous release. Pixelization is noticed, and some edge halos are evident in the higher contrast scenes. Smearing is not a problem as with the previous disc. Fine film grain provides a gritty texture to the picture, and a few flecks of dirt are inherent in the source element. (Suzanne Hodges)
