Story Synopsis:
A little on the mature side and with not much money in his pockets, New Zealander Burt Munro (Hopkins) decides it is time for his 47-year-old dream to become a reality, and ventures from the bottom of the world to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah where he hopes to ride The World's Fastest Indian. It is along the way that he meets a handful of friends who encourage and support him, but it's American racer Jim Moffett (Chris Lawford) who intervenes at the right moment and allows Burt this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Based on one hell of a true story. (Jack Kelley)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a generally soft easy-on-the-eyes quality that is complementary to the period of the story. Colors are nicely balanced, with accurate fleshtones and generally deep blacks. There is some pixelization noticed, but rarely are there any detectable edge halos. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
