Story Synopsis:
Inspired by the artist's own life and starring in his movie debut "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is Marcus, a young man who grew up in a rough New York neighborhood. After losing his mother at an early age, the young hood turned to drugs and crime as a way of life. But when the gang-banging got old and the shootings too many, he decided to trade in his gun for music, making that his weapon of choice. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.32:1 DVD picture has several scenes that are bright, hazy, and soft with blown-out whites and low contrast. Darker scenes fare better, with richly saturated hues that are nicely balanced with deep blacks. Much of the look of the picture appears to be stylized. While the picture tends to look a bit soft, details are adequate throughout. Minor pixelization is evident, but there is no bothersome edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
