Story Synopsis:
Taking over for an ill colleague, Dr. Sam Foster (McGregor) has no idea what lies ahead when he meets Henry Letham (Gosling), an artistic psychiatric patient that threatens suicide on his 21st birthday, and then disappears. Frantically searching for his fragile patient, Dr. Foster realizes how difficult it is to Stay in the real world when it seems the most of Henry's life is colliding with the netherworld. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture has a stylish look, with some scenes presented with a well balanced, natural color palette and others awash in overtones that help evoke a certain mood or create a surreal atmosphere. While details are adequate, there is a certain softness inherent in the picture. Some scenes are very nicely defined, while others are slightly veiled in appearance. Minor pixelization is detected, but there is no bothersome edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
