DVD Picture:
Appropriate in establishing the period of the story, the anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture has a nostalgic appearance, with a color scheme that is a bit desaturated and looks dated. A hint of color makes some scenes appear reminiscent of an old photograph. Sharpness and detail are adequately rendered throughout, with satisfying textures, contrast, and shadow delineation. The look of the picture is almost understated, so as not to take away from the storytelling. Imagery is clean, with little in the way of distracting edge enhancement or pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
