Story Synopsis:
Imagine, if you will, this is your life: you live alone surrounded by armies and armies of still-in-the-box action figures, you work at the local Circuit City-esque store as the stockroom clerk, you hang out with your Social Security-receiving neighbors, and it's not uncommon for you to spend three-and-a-half hours preparing an egg salad sandwich. What could make it worse? Being The 40 Year Old Virgin. And so is the life of Andy Stitzer (Carell), that is, until his fellow co-workers find out his secret and decide to assist him in finally doing the deed. DVD Picture:
The anamorphcially enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits a color scheme that is vibrant and richly saturated, with natural fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are bright and well-contrasted. Sharpness and detail are also adequate, but there is a hard edge to the picture that makes objects appear unnatural at times. In addition, edge halos are also noticed. Pixelization is also a minor nuisance with the picture. (Suzanne Hodges)
