Story Synopsis:
Don't let those uniform-clad, perfectly-manicured young ladies of the affluent Roxbury Academy of Beverlly Hills fool you...they are manipulators, liars, and starlets. Enter Kimberly (Wood) who masterminds this Pretty Persuasion with the enlisted help of her two closest friends: Brittany (Harnois), who is in love with Troy (Sands), the hottest of the hotties, and Randa (Adi Schnall), a foreign exchange student fo few words who is just happy to be included. As the seed of sexual assault is planted against their drama teacher, it blossoms into a media storm and entangles the entire community. This film's clever writing and dead-pan delivery were recognized by a Grand Jury Prize Nomination at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. (Jack Kelley)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.32:1 DVD picture exhibits a vibrant color palette that is nicely balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with nicely rendered textures, although some scenes are softly focused. Rarely are edge halos noticed, and there is very little bothersome pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
Music is mixed and recorded well in the Dolby
