Story Synopsis:
In "Gankutsuou: The Count Of Monte Cristo - Chapter One" noble young Albert (Fukuyama) and his friend Franz (Hirakawa) set their sights on adventure when they leave their privileged lives in Paris and travel to the moon, where they are introduced to the Count (Nakata). (Tricia Spears)

The moody, hazy animated picture is presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen. The picture glows with color and light, and bizarre effects that take you to another world. Sometimes color saturation seems a bit weak, while other times hues are engulfing and rich. Noticeable pixelization is limited. (Suzanne Hodges)
