Story Synopsis:
Inspired by the Last Days of Kurt Cobain, Gus Van Sant (Gerry, Good Will Hunting) directs Michael Pitt (Hedwig And The Angry Inch) in the role of Blake, a tormented recording artist who seems imprisoned on his own property. Avoiding the people who love him, Blake descends deeper and deeper into depression, seeking a release that no one will understand. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits pleasing qualities, with nicely saturated colors. Despite minor smearing, images are generally sharp. For the storytelling, the picture is complementary with subtle visuals. Some edge halos and pixel breakup is noticed at times. (Suzanne Hodges)
