Story Synopsis:
Focusing on the last year of his life, "James Dean: Sense Memories" commemorates the 50th anniversary of the young actor's death. In one year he starred in three well-loved films, "East Of Eden," "Rebel Without A Cause," and "Giant," and clips of the movies as well as interviews by many of those who loved him are presented here in this must-see biography of the Hollywood legend.. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
Intentionally grainy black-and-white dramatizations, still photos, archival footage, film clips, and color imagery are cut together with varying degrees of quality. The new interview footage can be sharp and detailed. Still photos are often set against a clean, stark white background. No obtrusive anomalies can be faulted with the 1.78:1 DVD transfer. This is a very nicely presented documentary. (Suzanne Hodges)
