Story Synopsis:
Hired as a governess for two little lovelys, Miss Giddens (Kerr) soon learns that she won't be living the life of Mary Poppins. Sent to the country to take care of "The Innocents," Miss Giddens is at first charmed by the children. But it becomes apparant soon enough that there's evil lurking below the surface, and everything is not at all what it seems. Based on the story "The Turn Of The Screw" by Henry James. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture delivers the lovely black-and-white visuals with a nicely balanced gray scale. Images are satisfyingly sharp and detailed, with pleasing contrast and shadow delineation. The source element is revealing of some minor anomalies like dirt, scratches, and film grain. Pixelization is occasionally noticed, but there are no obtrusive edge halos. (Suzanne Hodges)
