    Story Synopsis:
    Twenty-six years after the end of the war, Mrs. Togashi (Hidari) is still trying to clear her husband's name. Executed for desertion, his widow doesn

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 2.38:1 DVD picture exhibits a dated looking picture, with colors that appear slightly undersaturated. Still hues can be well balanced considering the aged appearance. Images are generally sharp, though some scenes are softly focused or slightly smeared. The black-and-white scenes exhibit a generally good gray scale that is nicely contrasted. The source element is revealing of some grain and minor dirt. Overall the picture can be generally satisfying. (Suzanne Hodges)
