Story Synopsis:
"The Man Who Never Was" is a true story involving the British Intelligence and the means they went to while attempting to fool their enemy. After exhuming a man's corpse, Lt. Commander Ewen Montagu (Webb) planted the body with false information hoping to throw the Germans off track with respect to their plans of invading Sicily. But things became even more complicated than they had imagined when a German spy started snooping around. From the book by The Hon. Ewen Montagu, CBE, DI, QC. (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced DVD picture exhibits dated characteristics; appearing somewhat soft with a color scheme that is a bit undersaturated. Fleshtones are often nicely rendered, but blacks lack true depth. The image is slightly shaky at times; a distraction that is no doubt more noticeable and bothersome on larger home theatre displays. Minor artifacts and anomalies are inherent in the source element that contribute to the dated look of the picture. (Suzanne Hodges)
