Story Synopsis:
Tragedy and comedy are explored by Sy (Shawn) as he describes two versions of a story about a woman named Melinda (Mitchell). How will Melinda And Melinda prevail from a bad breakup with her husband? The only way to find out is after attending a tragic dinner party with Laurel (Sevigny) and Lee (Miller) and a comic dinner party with Susan (Peet) and Hobie (Ferrell). (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced DVD picture exhibits a pleasing color palette that often delivers warmly lit interiors that are awash in golden hues. Exteriors have a natural appearance overall. Fleshtones are often well balanced (if slightly orange on occasion) and blacks appear to be satisfyingly deep and solid. The picture is sharp and nicely detailed, with little in the way of smearing. Some minor flecks of dirt are inherent in the source element, but nothing that is terribly distracting. (Suzanne Hodges)
