DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.30:1 DVD picture exhibits nicely saturated, colorful images. Fleshtones and hues are well balanced throughout. The picture can have a slightly dated appearance, but the look adds charming character to the picture. Sharpness and details can be nicely rendered, though some scenes have an intentionally soft, slightly blurred appearance. Bothersome smearing is only occasionally a problem. The source element is generally clean, with few flecks of dirt and little film grain. Pixelization and edge enhancement are apparent, and may occasionally irritate scrutinizing viewers.
