    Story Synopsis:
    Al Pacino stars as the Jewish Shylock in one of

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture is often quite dark, with scenes lit by torches. Shadow delineation exhibits good depth, with adequate visual information in the darkness. Images are sharp and nicely detailed, though some minor smearing is occasionally detected. Colors are richly saturated, highlighting the period costumes, with deep blacks and naturally balanced fleshtones. There is little in the way of distracting pixelization or edge enhancement.     I love to read WSR because of the straightforward, professional equipment reviews. I also LOVE the DVD reviews. As a home theatre fanatic, I want to know the technical and quality aspects of my future purchase/rental DVDs with just a brief synopsis of what the movie is about. Other home theatre publications spend way too much space reviewing the movie itself. I will make my own judgments on the merits of the movie, what I want from my magazine is some insight on how the DVD will sound and look on my system. WSR gives the reader just that. GREAT mag!
