Story Synopsis:
When civil war erupted in his country in 1994, Paul Rusesabagina (Cheadle), host manager of the poshest Hotel in Rwanda, used his resources and status to save his family and over 1,000 Rwandan refugees. With the rest of the world just looking on and the United Nations in the country only as peace keepers, this compassionate man opened his home and fought against impossible odds to save himself and those in danger of being slaughtered. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits a very pleasing, natural looking color palette, with accurate fleshtones, warm hues, and deep blacks. The picture is generally sharp and detailed throughout, with well-balanced contrast and shadow delineation. Unfortunately, edge enhancement is a problem with this title, with the annoying white halos apparent throughout the feature. there is also some pixelization noticed, with the occasional breakup of finer details.
