Story Synopsis:
Poor old George Dupler (Hackman) isn't doing so well these days. His son Freddie (Quaid) drives him crazy, his wife Helen (Ladd) drives him crazier, and he works "All Night Long" in a drugstore. Needing a little spice in his life, George begins an affair with his wacky neighbor Cheryl (Streisand), who already happens to be involved with young Freddie. Positive that there's more to life than the one he's leading, George leaves his family for his new love, but Cheryl isn't quite as sure of George as he is of her, and she must come to a decision about the man who's heart she has stolen. (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
Exhibiting some dated characteristics, the anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture is otherwise nicely rendered, with a satisfying color palette and sharpness. Fleshtones can appear a bit brownish, but can othertimes exhibit natural qualities. Other hues are well-saturated with deep blacks. Textures, like in fabrics, can be nicely rendered. The source element is revealing of some flecks of dirt and film grain. Edge enhancement and pixelization are noticed at times, but are rarely obtrusive. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
From the beginning, the age of this film can immediately be heard in the big fat mono Dolby
