DVD Picture:
There have been 70 Issues of Widescreen Review since Get Shorty was first reviewed on DVD. This new 1.82:1 DVD is also anamorphically enhanced, and looks pretty similar to the previous DVD, if a little bit cleaner. Colors are richly saturated and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. At times the picture is awash in a warm yellow hue. Images are sharp and nicely detailed, with satisfying textures, though sometimes the picture can look a bit smeared, flat, or undefined. The same flecks of dirt are noticed on both DVDs. Minor halos of edge enhancement are noticed, but pixelization is limited. (Suzanne Hodges)
