Special features include three deleted/alternate scenes, feature commentary with director Alejandro Amenabar, an 84-minute behind-the-scenes documentary "A Trip To The Sea Inside," a photo gallery, a storyboard gallery, a set design gallery, the theatrical trailer, and other New Line trailers. There is also DVD-ROM enhancements available on a PC running Microsoft Windows 98SE or higher, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, and Macromedia Flash 6.0.
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD picture has a nicely rendered appearance, exhibiting a well balanced (if slightly understated) color scheme, accurate fleshtones, and deep blacks. Images exhibit satisfying sharpness and detail, and natural contrast and shadow delineation. There is no obtrusive edge enhancement, and only occasional pixelization. There is some film grain inherent in the source element that contributes an occasional gritty texture, but otherwise the picture is clean and smooth. (Suzanne Hodges)
