Story Synopsis:
Nine years after two complete strangers met on a train and spent one magical night in Vienna, only to part Before Sunrise; Jesse (Hawke) and Celine (Delpy) meet again in Paris. Jesse is on his last stop of a book tour, where he is promoting a novel about his encounter with Celine. Celine is living in Paris and catches him at the bookstore. Now they have a single afternoon where, Before Sunset, they can discover if they were meant to be together. Based on the characters created by Richard Linklater and Kim Krizan. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits a soft, nostalgic picture that is perfectly reminiscent of Before Sunrise. The Parisian settings glow with soft light and nicely balanced contrast. Colors are well saturated, with accurate fleshtones and generally deep blacks. The source element is revealing of minor film grain. Very slight edge enhancement is detected, as is occasional pixelization. Overall, the picture is quite easy-on-the-eyes. (Suzanne Hodges)
