Story Synopsis:
A social outcast in a small Idaho town, Napoleon Dynamite (Heder) spends his time avoiding knee-kicks to the stomach from jocks at his high school, drawing mythical creatures, and tending to his grandmother
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits a pleasing color palette that nicely shows off the beautiful Idaho locations. Fleshtones are naturally balanced, and colors are nicely saturated with deep blacks. The picture is generally sharp, though some minor smearing is noticed. Edge enhancement is generally minor with this title, but there is some pixel breakup noticed. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
As with what generally occurs in movies of this genre, most of the presentation is through the front three screen channels, with a very subtle use of the surrounds for low level effects. Deep bass is very rare in this Dolby
