DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits an extremely desaturated and understated appearance, at times appearing almost black-and-white. Within this pale color scheme, hues appear balanced. As the movie progresses, some more color finds its way into the picture, though it is still quite subtle. The source element is occasionally revealing of some film grain, which adds a gritty texture to the picture. There is some edge enhancement apparent, and the white halos around objects can be a bit distracting. Pixelization is also noticed at times.(Suzanne Hodges)
