Story Synopsis:
Based on the book by Donald Goines, "Never Die Alone" features DMX as ex-gangster King David, who returns to his turf only to find brutal retribution for his past.
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 picture exhibits a highly stylized picture that has a surreal, harsh appearance. To acheive the gritty, grimey appearance of the picture, the film was shot in small-gauge Super 16 and converted to scope, thus causing film grain to appear amplified. The color palette is awash in greens and blues, but reds pop from the screen, and blacks are deep, but undefined. A drawback to the stylizations is that images can have a smeared appearance, often lacking in finer textures; but the look of the picture is intentional. Viewing in a completely blackened room is recommended due to the many dark scenes. (Suzanne Hodges)The disc also includes a modified full screen (1.33:1) presentation
