Story Synopsis:
In a future world humans are completely controlled by the government when it comes to their thoughts, their dreams, and their actions. They just basically exist. But when THX 1138 (Duvall) makes a shocking discovery involving the feeling of love, he decides that it's time to escape from those who imprison him and pursue his newly awakened feelings. This he will do at any cost. (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture looks quite good, with satisfying sharpness and detail throughout. With much of the film set against sterile white backgrounds, fleshtones remain natural and blacks are quite deep and solid. The picture often has a striking appearance, with clean, solid images. While film grain is inherent in the source element, it does not appear excessive or distracting. The picture is also devoid of overenhanced edges and distracting pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
