  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
For the 18 years he spent in prison, 46664 was the number issued to Nelson Mandela. On Saturday, November 29, 2003, a huge group of well-known musicians gathered together at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa, and put on The Event that helped raise awareness for Mandela

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced concert performance (framed at 1.78:1, though mislabeled as 4:3 on the jacket) is visually appealing with well-balanced colors, nicely rendered fleshtones, and deep blacks. Images are generally sharp and detailed throughout, with close-up shots appearing extremely detailed and naturally textured. Of course, depending on the camera angle, some scenes can be a bit soft or smeared. As the concert moves to the evening hours, the stage lighting pops with bold hues. There are occasional shimmering details noticed and minor smearing, but few distracting edge halos and little in the way of bothersome pixelization. This is a very good-looking concert.
