DVD Picture:
With the exception of seamless added new scenes, this new DVD appears to be the same transfer as the previous edition (reviewed in Issue 81). This anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1-framed DVD exhibits a beautiful picture that can be extremely dark and moody with cold color stylizations. Lots of blues and grays fill the dark color palette, providing an appropriate setting for the modern-day, er night, vampire and werewolf action. Contrast and shadow delineation are excellent for this appropriately dark picture. Edge enhancement is virtually non-existent with this title, with images that merely appear edgy on rare occasions. Pixelization is also very limited, for a picture that is smooth, solid, and quite exceptional. (Suzanne Hodges)
