Story Synopsis:
In an attempt to faithfully represent the book of The Bible, veteran filmmaker Philip Saville ("Metroland") directs "The Gospel Of John." The three-hour saga covers the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples, and the events leading to His crucifixion and resurrection. Based on the Good News Bible

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVDs exhibit pleasing image quality, with colors that are often well balanced, with natural fleshtones, but blacks that seem just shy of true depth. There are times throughout the color palette when the picture can appear somewhat undersaturated or weak at times. Images are generally sharp, with satisfying details and textures. Sometimes images can appear a bit smeared. Edge enhancement and pixelization are mostly minor. (Suzanne Hodges)
