Story Synopsis:
In the small town of Anville lived a sister and a brother, who were left at home to wait for a party and their mother. Bored with such boredom were this mischievous two, then along came a Cat with Thing One and Thing Two. The Cat in his hat joined the kids in this and that, until the house was a mess; goo on every wall and every mat. The Cat and the kids had to clean the Mother Of All Messes, before their mother and her friends came home in their suits and in their dresses. Dr. Seuss
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture is as colorful as would be expected. Hues pop from the screen with rich saturation from a color palette that calls upon unheard of greens, violets, reds, and golds. With such vibrant hues in every scene, fleshtones are nicely balanced. The picture is quite sharp and detailed, with satisfying contrast and shadow delineation. Edge enhancement is not much of a problem with this title, but occasionally the picture does have a soft or somewhat smeared appearance with all of those colors seeming just a bit muddy. For the most part, kids and adults will find the look of this picture to be a lot of fun (maybe even more so than the movie itself). (Suzanne Hodges)
