Available for the first time in widescreen, the anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture has a satisfying appearance, with colors that are nicely saturated. Fleshtones and hues are well balanced within a cold, gray Irish setting. Images are sharp, with nicely rendered details and textures. Contrast and shadow delineation also contribute to the pleasing visuals. While there is some edge enhancement and pixelization present, the picture is otherwise very nicely rendered. (Suzanne Hodges)
