DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture has a dated appearance but also looks quite good, with a color scheme that can be nicely balanced. The picture is generally sharp, with satisfying details and definition. The picture can seem a bit bright at times and there are some fluctuations in brightness within certain scenes. Visual information drops off in the darkest scenes, but otherwise shadow delineation is satisfactory. Adding to the dated appearance is inherent film grain and artifacts in the source element. Edge enhancement is often noticed, and there are some shimmering artifacts and minor pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
