Story Synopsis:
Kris Kristofferson is a kind and caring sailor who brings comfort to a local widow whenever his ship arrives in port. Overjoyed by the feelings awakened in her that she thought were buried forever, she is pleased when her son takes to the man as well. However, when the boy shares his feelings with the evil leader of his local gang, the bully convinces him that the sailor is no good and must be dealt with one way or another. "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea" is based on the novel by Yukio Mishima. (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture looks dated and often appears overly dark. Colors can be nicely balanced, though hues are reminiscent of the 70s. Fleshtones are quite accurate, but blacks are undefined. The picture can have a flat appearance that is lacking in natural dimension. The source element is quite clean, with only some minor dirt. Edge enhancement is noticed at times, but pixelization is not a problem. (Suzanne Hodges)
