DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD concert performance offers a gritty picture with lots of blown-out images under bright stage lighting in contrast with the deep, undefined blacks. Depending on the source camera, the picture can be sharp and detailed, muddy and undefined, or somewhere in between. Colors are nicely saturated. Some aliasing problems are noticed, with occasional shimmering details, and there is occasional pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The 5.1-channel audio is a remarkable production. Fidelity is impressive, and the surround music presentation is quite exemplary for a large-venue performance recording. The soundstage is fully and energetically engaged throughout. The surrounds serve to provide for some sense of spatial ambience, while the center channel is devoted mostly to Bono
