DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a color palette that is fully saturated, with the lush green West Virginian backcountry visually contrasting the creepy storytelling. Fleshtones are naturally rendered and blacks are deep and solid. While the picture is generally sharp, finer details can appear somewhat smeared. Contrast and shadow delineation are quite satisfying. Pixelization can be a bit of a problem, creating a digital appearance, and edge enhancement can be obtrusive at times. (Suzanne Hodges)The disc also includes a modified 1.33:1 (4:3) full screen version of the movie (not reviewed).
