After watching over a powerful scroll for 60 years, a Bulletproof Monk (Yun-Fat) goes in search of a new guardian for the magic document. As luck would have it he gets involved with Kar (Scott), a petty thief who nabs the scroll from him while in the subway. Impressed by his skills after watching him fight, the nameless Monk takes a liking to the thief and becomes determined to enlighten the young man...even though Kar himself wants nothing to do with the Monk and his teachings.
