Story Synopsis:
Stanley Yelnats IV (LaBeouf) always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. This can be attributed to a long-standing curse put on his great-great-grandfather (who passed on his palindrome name down three generations), who had made a false promise to a fortune teller. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture that can be impressively sharp and detailed, with excellent textures, clarity, and definition. The color scheme is fully saturated and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones, natural hues, and deep blacks. Contrast and shadow delineation are excellent. Picky viewers may notice the loss or smearing of finer details (like a gingham check shirt that magically turns to linen) by subtle movements by the actor or camera. Edge enhancement and occasional pixelization are also noticed at times, distracting from an otherwise superb visual experience. (Suzanne Hodges)
