    The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a picture with a gritty texture that seems to visually complement the storytelling. The color scheme is rich with thick bold hues. Blacks are unparalleled in depth, and viewing in a completely blackened room is recommended for the extremely dark scenes (like Chapters 10 through 12). The bright reds and blues from the police lightbars pierce through the black night scenes. Fleshtones are nicely rendered. Many scenes are highly contrasted, while others appear sundrenched and warm.
