Adapted from the memoir of the same name by former CNN senior executive producer Robert Wiener (Keaton), "Live From Baghdad" tells the riveting story of a group of reporters determined to make history with a journalistic coup: broadcasting live from behind enemy lines during the Gulf War. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a picture that varies in quality. At times, the picture has a gritty texture that visually complements the conflict in Kuwait and Iraq. Yet, there are other scenes that are quite clear, with a smooth, nicely detailed appearance. While the picture is generally sharp, there are some scenes that have a soft or slightly smeared appearance. Colors are warm and nicely saturated, though fleshtones can appear slightly orange at times. Blacks are generally deep and solid. Minor edge enhancement and pixelization are noticed, occasionally appearing a bit bothersome. (Suzanne Hodges)
