Story Synopsis:
Jennifer Garner plays Sidney Bristow, a double agent for the CIA trying to immobilize the evil SD-6 agency who trained her as a spy in the popular television series "Alias." The pilot episode and entire first season is presented here in a six-disc DVD set.
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVDs exhibit the excellent image quality of this series that was broadcast in high-definition. Colors are rich and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones, bright hues, and deep blacks. Images are sharp and detailed, sometimes with exemplary textures and fine definition. Other scenes can exhibit a slightly soft focus. The picture can, thematically, have a dark character, but contrast and shadow delineation are well balanced. There are few signs of smearing and rare instances of pixelization. However, some edge enhancement is apparent, which can be a bit of a distraction for picky viewers, but overall the series offers very pleasing image quality. (Suzanne Hodges)
