Story Synopsis:
In a wonderland of pink and aqua, a Hollywood Boy and a Valley Girl get together...and totally freak their friends out! A Romeo & Juliet story of sorts, can Julie and Randy (Foreman and Cage) break the boundaries between preppies and punkers and find acceptance from their friends and family? (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture takes you back a couple of decades with the wild fluorescent 1980s colors shining through. Fleshtones are quite natural and blacks are generally deep. Contrast seems a little bit low at times. The source element is revealing of some dirt and film grain, though neither appear excessive. Edge enhancement is capable of distracting less-picky viewers, and pixelization can cause considerable breakup of finer details. (Suzanne Hodges)The disc also includes a modified 1.33:1 (4:3) full screen version (not reviewed) on the flip side.
