Story Synopsis:
When their cargo plane crashes in the Sahara Desert, the only hope for a crew of oilmen and military personnel is to try to rebuild the craft before they all perish from heat and deprivation. Based on Elleston Trevor's popular novel The Flight Of The Phoenix.

DVD Picture:
Despite dated characteristics throughout, the anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD can actually look quite good. Images are generally sharp and detailed, with adequate textures. Colors are well balanced, despite slightly brownish fleshtones; sand and sky appear natural. The source element is often revealing of film grain as well as occasional flecks of dirt. Unfortunately, the annoying white halos of edge enhancement can be quite obtrusive with this title. (Suzanne Hodges)
