    The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits an HD 24p-originated picture that is reminiscent of the visual style of the original Dune, with lots of warm browns, golds, and oranges throughout the color scheme. Images can be nicely detailed and sharp, though the picture can appear somewhat smeared or plugged-up at times. Much of the picture has a dim appearance that could use a slight boost in contrast. Some visual effects shots can appear flat and lacking dimension, setting them apart from the live action scenes. Pixelization causes some image breakup, creating an excessively
