DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced Superbit 1.85:1 DVD has a mostly understated look, with a simple, natural color scheme. Hues are well balanced, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are generally sharp, with nicely rendered textures and details. Contrast can seem a bit low at times, but shadow delineation is satisfying for the darkest scenes. There is some edge enhancement noticed at times, but pixelization is rarely a problem. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The 5.1-channel sound mix has been well-recorded, with voices and effects sounding convincingly natural. The dialogue, which predominates this sonic presentation, seems comfortable to hear and is abundantly articulate. The soundstage is quite reserved in nature, with usually a very gentle sense of spatial expansion.
