Story Synopsis:
The classic Cole Porter musical "Kiss Me, Kate" was revived as an irresistible Tony Award-winning play in 2000. Recorded at London
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits on-stage images that can be somewhat soft, though general prop details are satisfyingly apparent. Colors are brightly saturated under soft stage lighting, with lots of pinks, reds, and blues. Blacks are slightly shy of true depth. Finer details, like pinstripes on costumes, can smear or even disappear as the characters move about the stage. There is minor pixelization and edge enhancement, but this is mostly a close-up visual experience of a wildly entertaining stage performance. (Suzanne Hodges)
