  WSR Narrative Review
Special Notes:
Also available in The Jack Ryan Collection, which includes the remastered editions of The Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games, Clear And Present Danger, and the previously released The Sum Of All Fears.

Story Synopsis:
Based on Tom Clancy

DVD Picture:
This new anamorphically enhanced 2.30:1 DVD exhibits a preferred picture that lacks the annoying aliasing problems and shimmering artifacts of the previously released non-anamorphic DVD. Colors are rich and well balanced, with nicely rendered fleshtones and deep blacks. The picture is quite sharp and nicely detailed, though some scenes have a slight soft focus. Edge enhancement can be a problem, as was the case with the previous DVD, but pixelization is limited. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is the same as that for the previous DVD. The DTS Digital Surround audio offers a more open-sounding spatial presence and also greater deep bass prominence, due in part to the fact that LFE channel activity is slightly higher. Despite the age of the production, and the slightly dated sonic character (noticeable especially with the dialogue), the remastered audio presentation is still very impressive. There
